Wednesday 2 April - 6pm to 9pm - Glazing Workshop
Learn how to take your ceramics to the next level with beautiful glazing techniques.
This workshop is ideal for beginner potters, anyone who would like to expand their glaze knowledge and those who may just like a refresher on techniques.
In this approximately 3 hour workshop we will cover topics such as:
- What is glaze and why do we use it.
- Preparing your ceramics for the best possible glaze outcome.
- Setting up for a glazing session and what equipment you will require.
- A variety of glazing methods including dipping and underglazing.
- The potential issues associated with glaze and how to best avoid them.
- Then you’ll get hands on and glaze your pieces!
The workshop fee of $95 per person covers:
- Your 3 hour workshop.
- Use of all our hand crafted studio dip glazes, underglazes and all the tools required throughout the session.
- The glaze firing of 4 small* or 3 medium sized pieces** (You must provide your own bisque fired pieces.)
- Light refreshments.
You will need to supply:
- Your own ceramic pieces ready for glazing.
- These must already have been bisque fired prior to the workshop,
stoneware suitable for firing at cone 6 or cone 8,
and we prefer handcrafted over factory made pieces please.
- In this workshop you may glaze 4 small* or 3 medium sized pieces**
≈ After the Workshop you will leave your glazed pieces with us, which we will then fire in house and have ready for you to collect approximately 2 weeks after the workshop.
≈ You are required to wear closed toe shoes, and recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, as glazing can get quite messy!
