Afterschool Pottery Workshop
x1 Workshop per week for x8 Weeks on Monday afternoons
Monday 20 February to Monday 7 April
(No session on Monday 3 March due to Public Holiday)
4pm to 6pm
for ages 7 to 14 years
* If you are seeking a fun, creative and mindful after school activity for your 7 to 14 year old this 8 part workshop is perfect.
* In this series of 8 workshops participants will learn the basics of WHEEL THROWING, TRIMMING, and HANDBUILDING, plus a variety of surface decoration techniques such as SGRAFFITO, UNDERGLAZING and DIP GLAZING.
* Everyone creates at different paces, therefore participants could expect to complete anywhere from 5 to 15 pieces.
* In this workshop our experienced tutors will demonstrate and guide participants through the various processes and provide inspiration, however we encourage everyone to be creative and playful and add their own flare to their work.
* No previous experience is required. Complete beginners are welcome.
The dates for this workshop are as follows:
- Monday 10 February 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 17 February 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 24 February 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 10 March 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 17 March 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 24 March 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 31 March 4pm to 6pm
- Monday 7 April 4pm to 6pm
The course price of $423 covers:
- x8 workshops of approximately 2 hours each,
- Expert tuition through the creating and decorating processes,
- All the clay, glaze and tools required,
- The firing of the pieces created.
* Completed pieces will be available for collection from the studio approximately 4 weeks after the end of the course.
* Please note this is an EIGHT part workshop.
We cannot offer make up sessions or refunds for missed workshops.
If for any reason participants are not able to attend the entire series of 8 workshops you may transfer the entire enrolment to another suitable attendee prior to week 1.
After week 1 no changes can be made.
No refunds will be issued.
* We keep workshops limited to a maximum of 8 participants to ensure each student gets sufficient time with the tutor. This means workshops sell out fast so don’t wait to grab your spot!
* Our tutors all hold current Police and Working With Children checks.
* We recommend your child wear clothes you don’t mind them getting dirty, as pottery can get a bit messy! Closed toe shoes are a must and long hair is to be tied back.
* We encourage participants to bring a water bottle, clearly labelled with their name.
We ask that no food is brought into the studio please.
* Please note, we do not have an area for spectators during workshops.
* As we are located in a shared warehouse with a variety of friends including a Tattoo Studio, Accountant and other artists we ask that you please ensure your children are aware they must behave in a safe and social manner at all times.

All our classes have a minimum number of participants.
If that number is not reached we may cancel the class and you will be notified of any changes via the email address supplied when booking.
In this instance you will be given a credit to book an alternate workshop with Prickly Pear Studios.
No refunds, credits or replacements classes will be issued in the case of non attendance.
If you are unable to attend a workshop, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person.
Although the greatest of care is taken with your ceramic works of art, due to the nature of clay we cannot guarantee every piece will survive the firing process.
In the unfortunate event your piece does not survive we are not able to issue a refund or credit.
